Prayer Shawl
Ministry Knitting with a
Purpose
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets
the first Tuesday of the month
from 6:45—8 p.m. and knits
shawls for church and community members who are experiencing
hardship and need to feel the warmth of God’s love and the
prayers of the Franconia Congregation. Participants
commit to praying for the recipient while knitting the
shawl. The Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to anyone who
knits or wants to learn to knit.
Sewing Circle Helping the Community through
Sewing
The women of the Sewing Circle
Ministry meet the second Tuesday of the month
from 8 a.m. - 3
p.m. in the sewing building located to the right of our main
building. They knot comforters for Mennonite Central
Committee and each year they quilt for the Penn View Christian
School, Quakertown Christian School, and Gospel Express
benefit auctions. Throughout the year, women also make bags
for the school and health kits for MCC, sew girls dresses for
MCC and piece the comforters. They also enjoy a time of
fellowship over lunch at a local restaurant. Beginners
are welcome, they will teach you to knot
comforters and quilt! Feel free to come and go
as you need throughout the day.
Morning For
Mothers Even Moms need a Break
Sometimes
Morning for
Moms welcomes all moms with infant to elementary age children
to join them at their once a month
gathering
held at the church from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Mothers will enjoy a
hot breakfast in a relaxed environment with time to socialize
and connect with other moms experiencing similar life
stages. This time is followed by a speaker focusing on a
topic pertinent to this stage of motherhood. Free
childcare is provided for infants through children age
4. Various additional activities are planned throughout
the year and include mom-only activities as well as mom and
child(ren) events. All meetings at the church occur on
the second Wednesday of each month with the activities planned
for the fourth week of the month.
Sisterly
Love Be a blessing and receive one as
well!
Sisters, do you enjoy getting to
know other women of our church, offering a word of
encouragement, a hug and a smile? This Winter, we will go
in small groups to visit some of our sisters that are not
able to attend a Bible Study.
Daniel Lives of Integrity. Words of Prohpecy.
by Beth Moore
This study teaches
how individuals can live with integrity in today's
self-absorbed society. Join Beth in a faith-building study of
prophecy and learn how to shine for Christ in our modern
culture. Just as the prophet Daniel faced unbelievable
pressures to compromise his faith, to live in a hostile
culture, and to confront temtations and threats -- today's
believers face many of the same
trials.
Love
Walked Among Us Learning to Live Like
Jesus by Paul Miller
His name
is recognized the world over. Christians claim to follow him.
Nowhere was the vitality of Jesus more visible than in his
love, a love unlike any the world has ever seen.
Compassionate, honest, powerful, humble, and sacrificial --
Jesus was love personified, love walking among us. Such an
example doesn't just happen. How did he do it? And how can we
learn to love like him? In Love Walked Among Us, Paul
Miller invites us to get to know Jesus, to observe his life
and his love as they unfold in the gospel narratives.
Girls Night
Out Be blessed and encouraged! Laugh and
worship! Join us for a "Girls Night
Out" Thursday, March 11, at Sandy cove
Retreat Center. Take time to relax and laugh with Donna East,
a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, all-American girl next door who
cam straight out of her hometown, Detroit, and hit the New
York City comedy scene big. Her material comes straight out of
her Mid-western heart. Her life is her comedy source. From her
wacky family, her church work, her recent marriage, to
surviving career moves... it all factors
in.
